Skydiver’s Dream Saves a Life at Drop Zone
All kinds of thoughts started running through my head. I lost the peace I had just minutes before. I started thinking “what are we going to find? Would she be impaled on a tree? Was her body going to be torn apart by the trees, or even smashed into a mass of broken bones with her innards strung all over the ground?” For a few minutes, I lost sight of what I knew in my spirit to be true. Fear had me. We searched for what seemed to be forever although it was only about five to ten minutes after we entered the forest. I was the one who found her lying on her back somewhat rolled up on her side. She was in one piece! As I moved closer I didn’t see any bones protruding out of her body. She was lying perfectly still, motionless, her eyes were closed. When I got to her, I knelt down and touched her neck to check for a pulse. The moment I touched her, she opened her eyes! Talk about shock! She even smiled! She had survived and was OK.
There is a spiritual lesson here. I knew in my heart she was going to be ok. I even told John and Chipper that. But fear crept in and I lost that truth momentarily. Everything I saw in the “natural” told me we were going to retrieve a body. But God’s Word is final. He told me what was true. I wavered, but He did not. Here is what I have learned about F.E.A.R. It is False Evidence Appearing Real.
Several months later I had the opportunity to speak with this lady and what she shared blew me away. She said that as she was falling and couldn’t do anything to save herself, she knew that someone was there to help her, to intercede on her behalf. That person was me. When she told me that, I remembered the question that was asked of me while watching TV in the pilots lounge. What was I doing there? The answer… keeping a Divine Appointment! God wanted me there that day and had even prepared me in a dream. Why me? Why not me? Better yet, why not you? Just Surrender to God. You can’t do any better than that. Amen”
